Batman: Arkham Origins - ARSENAL

Here's good chance to post a bit more of the exploration process that went into a few pieces of design.
We attempted to infuse the weapon designs with a mixture of the modern, the classic 40s mobster style, and hints of Art Deco and truly make them look and feel like unique, little pieces of Gotham City.

The Skeleton Rifle or Zip Gun - the default goto side arm of every Gotham thug.
Sawn-off shotgun.
Shotgun explorations, in brackets the ones we picked.
Joker gang - nail gun design and explorations.

An mashup exercise using bits of pieces of a prop concept I did some time ago and building on it.

BRINK - Released!

One of the first areas I got to design for the game:
Last week BRINK finally came out and with it a ton on new interesting articles including this one on The Art of BRINK(IGN) featuring some freshly released concept pieces by me and Laurel Austin. Here're some of mine.

Orthodox Police - Light Priests

Here are some more old [neo]martyr concepts/thumbnails.
Those are the three branches of the priest class of the Orthodox police in their light to medium variants.

The Apostle - a sort of a battle priest missionary type character using a range of light weapons. Adept at dealing with hostile situations.

The Holy Smoker - bearing a range of large incense burners and staves and the heavy robes of a higher order.

The Proclamator - Voice of the law of the church.

Five Helmets

Here are five quickly rendered in B/W helmets, part of a series of 100 that I never finished. Mostly because I planed to render all of them in this way. Will probably post the rest of them at some point in whatever state they're in when I have time to assemble them :). The designs are completely random, just an exercise.

Robot Got Back

Here's a bot I've spend too much time on. Time to move on.
You can download a vid showing some process steps here:

Orthodox Police - Temple Guardian

Over painted a bit an old concept I did for a personal project codenamed Martyr or [neo]martyr some time ago. The project is frozen and I still have tones of half finished concepts from it that I need to process and post so stay tuned for more in near future.

100 Arms

Some thumbnails for a challenge I was doing with some friends. I've gotten a bit rusty in that department, so those were really useful to remind me where I have to improve. I even got a couple not half as bad as the rest :P.

Ferry to Nowhere

Trying to be more spontaneous and balanced here. The ground could have used some more attention probably, and I'm still not sure if it wasn't better flipped the other way or whatever :) moving on.

Jetscapes

Tried some organic landscape approach to some jet fighters, I might explore this idea further with other subjects.

Teal Thunder

Part of series of experiments I started that include picking a really small photo thumbnail of random vehicle(car), with a pallet and overall perspective I like and using this as a starting point and building on top, whatever comes. In general, turning old cars in a futuristic and some times retro-futuristic, armored vehicles in bright colors. If I get time to finish them expect me posting the rest of them in not so distant future.

Out in the Desert

A derert patrol bot and its crew, meeting the sunrise.

Shaded thumbnail, B/W sketch and final.

Alchemy experiments

Here are some experiments I did some time ago with trowing some quick shades(PShop) on top of b/w mess quickly done in Alchemy. I was planning to do more of those but finally ended with just two. Maybe some day, I'll play with this process some more.

Bike Sketch

A quick and tiny doodle of bike and girl. Just a rough idea from some time ago, I never posted back then.

Tractor

Here's a speed paint of random vehicle, without any thought involved. The task was to impovise and get something finished in decent level of detail in about an hour. I kinda worked, the lighting is a bit vague and the design is meh, but it kinda looks cute. I also managed to get a video of this one recorded and it's being already 3 hours since I'm trying to downsize it and crop it a bit, no success this far.

And here's the time-laps. The quality is a bit poor, don't ask how I did it, it was long and painful. I hope it'll be useful :).
